FEMA's Fire Prevention and Safety Grants Program is part of the Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program. FP&S grants focus on reducing injury and preventing death among high-risk populations. The FP&S Program provides financial assistance directly to eligible fire departments, national, regional, state, local, tribal and non-profit organizations such as academic, public health, occupational health, and injury prevention institutions for fire prevention programs. The program also supports firefighter health and safety research and development such as clinical studies that address behavioral, social science, and cultural research.
