NETC Library Policies: Outside Researcher Policy

Researchers not affiliated with NETC

Outside researchers may be able to borrow NETC Library materials through Interlibrary Loan rather than visiting in-person.

Outside researchers wishing to visit the NETC Library in person are welcome providing the following requirements are met:

  • Request an appointment by email at least one week in advance.
  • Provide a description of research focus that explains why on-campus access to the unique collections of the NETC Library is needed.
  • Abide by all DHS/FEMA/NETC security procedures:
    • Access to NETC requires a valid photo State ID, driver’s license, or passport.
    • Access will be under staff escort and will apply to the library facility only. Access to other buildings is not provided.
    • Visitors must be prepared for the possibility of having their vehicle searched before being granted access.
    • Firearms and weapons are prohibited on the facility. Weapons include knives with blades longer than 3 inches.
    • Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on site and will be confiscated.

Outside researchers may photocopy and scan materials inside the library at no charge.  Scanning requires a standard USB flashdrive.  Please bring your own as the library cannot supply these.
